The museum is available for hire for receptions, corporate functions, talks, shows and other activities and events between April and October inclusive, with an 11pm curfew for evening events. We can offer you a variety of function hire options: the whole site, the events field, a marquee, an exhibition room, the tea room, or some combination of facilities. Similarly, we can be very flexible with regard to the hire duration. For example, we have had people hire a room for as little as an hour, groups have hired the field for days on end, and an educational body hired space for three months. The Events Field
Typically, we have used this space for shows and outdoor events. You can hire this on its own, or in conjunction with the marquees and event spaces within the museum.
The normal capacity is 500, but this can be increased by special arrangment.
We have used this space for receptions, dances, talks, exhibitions and a variety of other activities. It is a flexible area with a capacity of 60.
We have used the tea room mostly for receptions, parties, meetings and talks. The capacity is 25, increasing to 40 when the reception area is included and 65 when the adjacent trades room is used as well.
Our marquees can hold up to 150 people in total and we can configure them in a variety of combinations.
We have used the courtyard as a space in its own right and as an outdoor extension to the barn and tea room The normal capacity is 50, but this increases to 100 with additional temporary tables and chairs.
The museum also offers camping and the hire of the marquees, tables and chairs for outside events.
